The WV Youth Turkey Bash is a one-of-a-kind youth hunting experience created to educate, motivate, and inspire the next generation of ethical outdoorsmen and women in West Virginia. Rooted in family mentorship and conservation, each $65 team entry includes one licensed family member—such as a dad, brother, or grandpa—and one youth hunter ages 5–17.

Every youth participant receives an official event shirt and hat, along with entry into special event prize drawings and access to the goodie table featuring thousands of dollars in outdoor gear and sponsor-donated items. Teams hunt their own property just as they would on WV Youth Turkey Day, and whether a bird is harvested or not, everyone returns to the TopGun Shop at noon for food, fellowship, awards, and prizes.

Event check-in opens at 9:00 AM, lunch begins at 11:00 AM, and official giveaways begin at 12:00 noon. Participants must be present to win prizes. The event concludes at 2:00 PM.

New this year, awards will recognize three winners in the Youth Division (ages 5–11) and three winners in the Senior Division (ages 12–17). Lunch for participating teams is provided by Old Country Diner and Ridge View Farms, with meals available for purchase for spectators.

What began with 83 youth hunters in year one grew to 155 in year two, and this year we anticipate nearly 200 participants. Registration will close earlier than in past years to ensure a safe, organized, and meaningful experience for every family, as the WV Youth Turkey Bash continues its mission of preserving West Virginia’s outdoor heritage for generations to come. All activities follow West Virginia state laws and regulations.
